Daddy's Big Girl

It is hard to believe Elena has hit the 1500 mark! She is now 1505 grams (3lbs 5 oz)!!! We are sure she will have her first bottle feeding by the weekend. Here is some video of Daddy's big girl>

Elena is up to 1465 grams (3lbs almost 4 oz). The Dr. said she should start getting a bottle at 1500 grams, which should be by this weekend. Here are some pitures of our bathing beauty!

A Busy Weekend!

So much has happened this weekend. Grampa Walsh held Elena for the first time. We had her baby shower and set up her room. The shower was lovely and Elena got a lot of beautiful gifts. She is now just a little over 3 lbs (1365 grams)!

Aunt Shelly is in town!

Aunt Michele arrived today from Florida. She charmed her way into see Elena and was invited back again. Elena is now 1250 grams (2lbs 11 oz) and getting bigger every day!

1/20/08

We wanted to thank everyone for all the prayers and well wishes. We also wanted to say thank you for all the lovely gifts for Elena. Aunt Kathy Walsh made this beautiful blanket and Grama Ree Rees friend Terry Lee made this adorable sweater and hat. We can't wait for Elena to fit into it! She is now 1187 grams ( 2lbs 8 1/2 oz).

Grama Walsh bought Elena a new outfit today. It is her first time in her own clothes. How cute is she!! She is now 1145 grams (2lbs 8 1/2 oz)

Grampa Colloca comes from Florida

Grampa Colloca arrived today to see his new granddaughter. She is now 1115 grams (2lbs 7 1/2 oz) and has been able to maintain her own body tempature for over 24 hours. Our litttle girl is getting bigger and stronger every day. She is amazing and inspiring!

In order for Elena to come come she has to meet certain milestones. One of which is to maintain her own body temperature. Today they felt she was up to the task and took her tempature probe off. She will be monitored every 3 hours and was put in her first T-shirt and given a blankie! She is up to 1109 grams (2 lbs 7oz).

Grandmas and Grandpas

1/15/08 Elena had a big night. Grandma and Grandpa Walsh and Grandma Ree Ree and Pop came to see her. She is now 1062 grams which is 2 lbs 5 1/2 oz!

Elena is growing like crazy! She is now 1026 grams (2 lbs 4oz).

Grama Walsh comes for a visit

Grama Walsh got to hold Elena today. She was very excited to see how much she has grow!

Elena is such a big girl. She can hold her binky and has grown 1 inch in lenght. She is now 14 1/2 inches long and 953 grams (2 lbs 1 1/2 oz).

2 Weeks, 2 Lbs

January 5, Elena is 2 weeks today. She had a full head of black hair and is acting like a big girl. No Oxygen, no IV, only the feeding tube which has helped her get to 2 lbs! Daddy held her hand as she fell asleep tonight.

900 grams

Elena is almost 2lbs! She weighed in at 900 grams today. Daddy said she is starting to feel heavier in his arms!

Elena is now over her birthweight! She weighed in at 835 grams (1.8 lbs). Yesterday she had a blood transfusion. She was a bit anemic and because she is so tiny it is difficult for her bone marrow to replace all the blood they take from her. She is now taking 3.3 cc of formula an hour and doing really well.
